Wednesday Washingtons

Texas State Senator Wendy Davis will announce on October 3 whether she will be running for governor of Texas or not.  No word yet if she will filibuster her own announcement.  According to Public Policy Polling, she'll start off about 5-10 points behind Texas attorney general Greg Abbott.

Well, this is interesting.  A college in Michigan promises to pay for a student's student loan if they're making less than $20,000 per year, right out of college.  If they make between $20,000-37,000 per year, the college will pay the student loan on a sliding scale.  The total loan payment is $70,000 per student.

Another story to show that racism isn't over because we elected Barack Obama.

Boston is the most energy efficient city in the United States.  I think it would be more interesting to see the least energy efficient cities in the country.  Well, according to the scores mentioned, Jacksonville is the worst.

Don't have a child with a food allergy.  Yesterday's links had an article about 1/3 of children with food allergies are bullied.  Now, we're seeing that children with food allergies cost upwards of $4,000 per child, per year.  It also shows as a parent, you will spend $931 out of the pocket of the parents.

Professor Stephen Hawking, sufferer of ALS, makes an argument for euthanasia.  He also says that humans will destroy each other with our own greed and stupidity.  Hawking agrees with Newt Gingrich that we need to find ways to live in space.  Although, no word on the moon colony or as it is also known the 51st state.
